SAGITTA Band Granulators have been used for more than 50 years in various production processes by the most important industries. The feedback is very positive. ln the “Compounding Technology”, for instance, it has been verified a cost cutting of 25% of the production time recovering the machine investment in a very short time.
SAGITTA Band Granulators are machines for the production of uniform cube-shaped granulated material. The size of the granules is from 3 to 15 mm. The cut is scissors like: the band granulator is composed af two sets of circular knives, which revolve in the opposite direction and are intermeshing. They convey the ribbon and cut into strips. The width af fhe strips is proportional to the thickness of the circular knives. ln order to prevent the strips from winding around the disc cylinders is provided to take the strips ouf of the gaps between the circular knives. The strips reach the counter-knive one besides the other and they are cut by the knife cylinder into cubical shape. During the cutting process there is no measurable increase in heat, either in the cutting aggregate, or in the granulated material, therefore there is no need of any kind of cooling. ln order to prevent the granulated material from sticking, the material is dusted with talc or zinc stearate before the longitudinal cut.
